My NF2

Neurofibromatosis type 2 causes tumors to grow on nerves, which eventually damages them. By removing those tumors, the chances of nerve injury are very high. So in most cases it's a double-edged sword. Not intervening will result in injury, and removing them will most likely damage them aswell. Best course of action is to monitor and only intervene in life threatning situations.

So far, NF2 has caused me:

-Right foot paralysis (around 13years of age – nf2 diagnosed)

-Several migraines teen age (visual aura, massive headaches, puking, aversion to light)

-Left vocal chord paralysis

-Progressive pain on neck near spinal-medula/brain steam area (Surgery fixed it)

-Began to lose control over fingers/hands. (Surgery fixed it)

As a result from my first surgery (October 5th 2015)

  • Temporarily tube fed/unable to swallow on my own (has recovered almost fully)
  • Right vocal chord paralisys (has recovered partially)
  • Left side of face total paralysis (has recovered partially)
  • Unable to walk on my own/Lost leg strength (has recovered almost fully)
  • Loss of balance (has recovered almost fully)
  • Left trapezius paralysis
  • Deaf left ear

I'm begining to feel parts of my lips getting paralysed and starting to mispronounce some words. I'm also hearing some interferences in my right ear when I flex my eyebrows muscles, which might indicate my right acoustic neuroma is starting to cause damage. If removed, I'll go fully deaf, the right side of my face will go paralyzed (temporarily or not), and other problems might occur

Game continues, to be updated….
